Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Tipswalo is a multi-award-winning Consultant and healthcare leader. She is passionate about clinical governance and is part of a multidisciplinary perinatal team that won the 2023 HSJ Patient Safety Award for Developing a Positive Safety Culture Award, the 2023 NHS Wales Award for Improving Patient Safety, the 2024 CNO/RCM Quality Improvement Award and Promoting Collaboration and Team Working and Achieving Excellence Through Service Improvements Award at Baby Lifeline UK Maternity Unit Marvels Awards 2025.
Alongside the work in her department to improve the safety culture, Tipswalo founded, organised and chaired Race Matters in Maternity. This annual conference is the first event in Wales to focus on disparities in maternity outcomes for women from the global majority. She is a member of the Mastering Diversity 2024 taskforce, working towards improving equity and inclusivity across Wales.
She is heavily involved in medical education and has developed several interactive learning resources to enable the engagement of learners at every level. She is excited to be able to be involved in this innovation to make health information in pregnancy more accessible.
